Q: Is there a way to center floatable menus horizontally on a page?
I used to use absolutePos=0, and all of my menus were centered ok, but when I tried floatable=1 I found that I had to change toabsolutePos=1 to get the menu to float, and this messed up my centering. Since I have multiple menus of different widths, I'd rather not have to hard-code the menu width, but please let me know if there's a better way.


A: Notice, when you use floatable menu you can't use relative menu position.
So, if you use

  var absolutePos = 0;

and to center the menu you use <p> or <div> with the center alignment your menu won't float.
To center your floatable menu you should set absolute coordinates.

Q: Obviously your menus are NOT cross browser usable, as you can e.g. Padding does not work in opera, while it works in IE.
When will there be an update on that bug?


A: JavaScript Tree Menu works fine in all browsers.
Try to set exact width for the menu width and menu height, try also to specify unitsin "px":
  var menuWidth="500px";
  var menuHeight="20px";
  var smWidth="116px";
You should also check your padding parameter, you should write it so:
  var itemPadding="1px 1px 1px 12px";

Q: Is there any way to get around the ActiveX control warning every time I load the website from the CD? I think Internet Explorer doesnt like the menu system.

A: You should adjust your browser settings.

"Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer".

There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.

Q: I tried the new engine files and the submenus now show up in the bottom frame.

If the new page in the bottom frame is a frameset itself, the menus will not show up. Is there a work around for this?

A: Unfortunately, JavaScript Tree Menu can work within 1 frameset only. It can't work within nested framesets.
