Q: I am trying to create a multicolumn dhtml navigation menu and nothing appears when I upload it to my server. I am attaching my menu called menu.js that I have created and placed in a folder called menudir.

JavaScript Tree Menu has only two states normal and mouseover.
Try to do the following things:
- delete var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, forexample:

You can also set a pressed item using Javascript API:
function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)
Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.
But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem. You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.Q: Also, when viewing the webpage with the dhtml list menu, my browser tells me that it is blocking scripts and ActiveX applications. I have to override it. Is there a way to prevent this so my customers don't get this message, or will it go away when I post it to my domain?
A: You should adjust your browser settings.
Tools/Internet Options/Advanced Options/
and set
"Allow active content from files to run on My Computer".
There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.
Q: Is this tag necessary?

Because Dreamweaver will not automatically update the path when the directory changes, (won't change from scripts/ to ../scripts).
A: Yes, it is a necessary tag.
Your menu won't work correctly without this tag.
Q: I have the cursor set as pointer – on some of the top menu items there is no link behind it yet the cursor still turns to a pointer.
Is there any way to have it so it only becomes a pointer if there is a link?
A: Unfortunately, you can set different cursor type for the menu items.
