Can you provide an example of how to dynamically change the menu items at runtime for the dropdown menus?
2)Generate your menu items dynamically from database.
Unfortunately we don't have working example with ASP.
You may generate a menu from a database or XML using any server-side script, e.g., PHP, ASP, VB, etc.
you should move parameters of a menu from a .js file into an html-page, e.g.:
<!-- (c) 2008, http://deluxe-menu.com -->
// and describe parameters of a menu
var menuItems = [
// here you generate items using server-side scripts (php, asp, vb, etc.)
The example of the menu working with PHP/MYSQL you can find here:
Click on the option "telefoonlijst" and a submenu has to pop-down… whay is this done not OVER the other object (e.e. the 'frameDESKTOP')
Click index2.htm to see the code is working when the top-frame is 120 pix large! A: Please, see how you should install the menu in cross-frame mode:
Notice that you should add dmenu_cf.js file in the folder where your menu is created in.
Unless we set the topdy parameter to be -65, our submenus do not appear adjacent to the toplevel menu. Below are our parameters and our menu. What is causing this problem? A: It is possible that you have some problems with your css.
The problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
In other words, you can't get the value of "position" attribute of the object if the object doesn't have this property within inline style(style="position:absolute"). To get the value you should move .css style into style="" attribute.
Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css, for example:
You should add <DIV id=SiteMenu>
So, you'll have:
<DIV id=SiteMenu style="position:absolute;">
1: For the deluxe-menu, can I keep a submenu shown even when my mouse pointer is NOT over the submenu anymore (besides the delay functions?) and hides only after a mouseclick somewhere (like the Microsoft menu of outlook)?
2: Is there a way to use the smartscrolling function (for a vertical menu) on the MAIN menu instead of only for the submenu's? A: 1) Unfortunately, you can't do it.
2) Yes, you can't use scrolling in the main menu. But if you have verylarge menu you can use multilevel menu,
Theoretically we can do scrolling in the main menu, but we think that it will be better touse multilevel menu in that case.
