Q: I have a Javascript/DHTML Tree Menu working on a website. What I want is that the javascript dhtml tree remembers which item was open when there is a click on an item.

I found on your website that this is possible with:   var tsaveState = 1;

But when I want to use this option I need to include dtree_ss.js in the html page. I can not find this file in the zip file I downloaded.

Can you help me with this file or tell me where I can find it?

A: See dtree_ss.js file was in the first versions of Javascript/DHTML Tree. We don't have such filenow. We haven't updated info on your website on the following page yet

You should use dtree.js file only.

Q: In my previous email asking about your menu program's ability to display a different color word on a menu item when the site is on that selected page, I made a mistake - I was experimenting with Vista xp1 style, the black/blue shiny dhtml menu templates.


A: The menu has only two states normal and mouseover. We'll try to add the pressed state in the future.

You can set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.

Q: I need to have two cascading menus in oneself page, please give me instructions of as making it.

A: You should simply call different data files in the place where you want to have a menus(check that you use relative menu position).

2. Allow using a variable size icon for each item.


A: 1. You're able to use Javascript for each item, for example:

Unfortunately, you can't assign onmouseover event to each item.
However, you can achieve this by using standard html objects withinitems, for example:

2. DHTML Tree Menu uses constant icon size for all icons.
If you wantto use different icon dimensions, you can use standard <img>elements within items:
