Q: My site requires me to regularly update the drop down menu by inserting a new item at the top of the list.


A: Add items using the following function:

function dm_ext_addItemPos (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams, Pos)

Adds the new item to a submenu.

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

iParams = [array] - the array of item parameters.
This parameter has the same structure as an item in menuItems array.
You can assign parameters of another existent item of the menu
(for example, when you want to create a duplicate of the existent item) or create new ones.

Structure of iParams:
[item_text, link, icon_normal, icon_over, tip, target, individual_style_index, jsFilename]
Pos - the position in the menu where you want to add new item.

Q: Could you please help me with coding of the submenu box in your java script dropdown menu?
I hope you can see images I've included in this email.
I want to put a large block of text in the submenu.
Now I can do it like the code shown here and it wraps and works OK.

The problem is that if I want a large amount of text, the line of code with text in it will be 10 miles long. Please note the line of code above isn't broken in practice. The email wraps it.

Is there any way to break the code into lines instead of one very long line?

Q: we want to be able to specify a certain height (or number of items) for the main menu after which a new column is created.


A: Unfortunately it is not possible to specify a number of items after which a new column is created.

But you can use blank items and create Individual Style for theseitems.

Q: It seems that if I try and use the syntax  ["| with some HTML such as <DIV class = 'myclass'> inside dropdown menu it IGNORES the HTML and just treats it like another link.
But if I don't start the line with  ["| ..... Then I get a syntax error.

A: No, this syntax is incorrect. It won't work.

You should have <div> ... </div> tags in each dropdown menu item!
It is not correctly to write <div> ... </div> tags for wholesubmenu.
