Q: I have tried changing every menu variable I can see to make the actual iconbackground a different color than the menu items background with no success.Is this possible?

Q: Could I create a function that displays thetab that the user clicked in the left tab menu.
These tabs are all within the same window, sothe page will always be the same.
Just need a function to make differenttabs appear.
A: Unfortunately Deluxe Tabs doesn't support API functions now.
You can use the following function to open specific tab:
dtabs_itemClick(menuInd,itemInd);
where
menuInd - index of a tab menu on a page, >= 0.
itemInd - index of a item, >=0.

JavaScript Tree Menu is a search engine friendly menu since v1.12.
To create a search engine friendly menu you should add additional html code within your html page:

A: You can set "bselectedItem" and " var bselectedSmItem" parameters based on your link before you call your data file.
For example, move " var bselectedItem" and " var bselectedSmItem" parameters from your data file to your code.

You should define seltabs and selsmtabs using server side script.
