Q: You've been helping me with some issues on the Javascript/DHTML Tree Menu system my company has purchased and most issues are resolved, so thank you! One big problem remains though and we can't seem to figure it out, so I hope you can help.
What we want is, when a user enters our site from the index (home) page then clicks on a link and the sub-page opens, for the dhtml menu tree to be open to the section the user is in and viewing. We also DO NOT want the browser to save the state of the menu, since that is inconsistent with where the user is in the site. Note: we do not use the Menu on the home page, is this a problem?
Per your tech support email, I've added the expand code, which works going from the home page to sub-pages. However, it interferes with navigating to other sub-pages once your in the site. The menu doesn't keep the section open, it closes back up. You mentioned the expand code has to be entered on every page....is that so in this instance and if so, that's a maintenance nightmare - does a better way exist for this type of menu?
Then we activated the "save state" option and the menu stays open on the sub-pages, but the expand option doesn't work.
It's like they cancel each other out and you can only have one or the other.
Can I get these two to work together? What do I need to do? Is it better to use the XP-style menu?
A: When user clicks the link, the browser loads a new page and the script re-create the dhtml menu tree.
If you want to open the needed section automatically on load you can use the following:
1. Save the state to cookies
2. Use frames
3. Put the special script on each page of site that will open appropriate section.

Q: Cross-frame mode: after clicking on a menu item and the subframe is loading and then mouse over the menu when the subframe has not finished loading a javascript error occurs and then the javascript vertical menu breaks.
A: You can get this error when you load pages from the another domain.
JavaScript Tree Menu can support this mode for the same domain only -- ifyou loaded a page to a subframe from another domain, the submenuscan't be shown in it. It happens because all browsers don't allow todo that for security reasons. Just imagine if you'll able to create aframeset from 2 frames, 1st frame will be with a zero height-width,and you'll load your page into it. Then user will go to another domainand your "invisible" frame will change a content of other pages!
Q: I really like how this works and I think it will wind up working for us, but I have a question. On the xp style dynamic tree menu, is there a way when you click one of the 'headers' that will open up other choices for example on your http://www.deluxe-tree.com/data-samples/tree-menuxp3.html tree. When youclick either the deluxe tree:xp style or the samples gallery or the samples gallery2 section, can you make it so it opens a page in another frame? The way it is now you it wont open a page until you click on the 'samples block 1' or below.
A: Actually you cannot use links for the top items in the XP Style.
But theoretically you can use links for the top items. You can write

Q: I recently decided to begin using the modal popup window and needthe calling browser window to reload when the deluxe-popup closes.
A: You can add an event when you close your popup window in the following way:

where ID is the ID of your window.
Add this code after you call your data file or deluxePopupWindow.open function.
