A: Actually there is no need to change our source code to handle these events.
Actually you can use your own Javascript code instead standard links and html code inside item text. For example:

A: Yes, you can call dm_init(); function multiple times (for example youcan call several data files, or move menuItems array and dm_init();function into your page directly) to have multiple menus on your page.

A: 1) Yes you can do it. Use smOrientation parameter in IndividualSubmenu Styles:
