To disable the item set item's target to "_".
For example:

Javascript Tree Menu. Expandable Menu.

You can set default expanded/collapsed items and submenus.
After clicking on menu item selected item becomes highlighted.
When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! You can also specify height and width for each separate submenu.
There is no need to write additional code on a server side to remember what items were expanded/collapsed. Javascript/DHTML Tree can save items state automatically!

Q: Is there a way to get text to wrap on a tree menu rather then have scroll bars if the text is wider then the area?

A: To wrap your text you can use the following parameter:
var tnoWrap=0;

you can also use standard <br> tags.

Q: No matter where I place the code, the html free menu always appears in the top left of the page,
I need it elsewhere obviously but it simply won't move.

A: You're using absolute position for the menu now.
You should use relative position in that case.
Change the following parameters:

  var absolutePos=0;
  var posX="0px";
  var posY="0px";

Q: I can't see menu on my test page only direct links...

A: Now on your page you have only search engine friendly code for JavaScript Tree Menu. You do not have a menu.
