Q: Is it possible to enter text in the java source code that won't display as a link?
A: If you don't want to use items as links you can disable these items.
To disable item you should set target parameter to "_".
You can do it in "Item Parameters" window.

Other licenses allow you to use the menu on Internet / Intranetwebsites only.
With the Developer license you can use the menu on an unlimited number ofInternet or Intranet sites and on the local machines.
This version of the script doesn't check keys and it isn't bound to adomain name, so it can be used with an application that doesn't have afixed domain name. There is also no need to add <noscript> tag to eachpage.

I don't know what's happenning I followed the instructions that you describe in your installation process. I'm using the menu in a jsp page.
A: Now on your page you have only search engine friendly code for JavaScript Tree Menu. You do not have menu.

You should paste also such lines, for example:

Where data.js is the file with your menu. You can create such file using Deluxe Tuner.
You should upload this files on your server in the correct place.
