Q: Can your dhtml drop down menus work in conjunction with a scroll wheel?
A: You cannot scroll submenus using scroll wheel when you set
var smSmartScroll=1;
To scroll your submenu you should move your mouse.
But you can use scroll wheel when you set
var smSmartScroll=0;
Q: I'm looking to make a space between menu buttons in the drop down menu example,
I checked the FAQ which suggested using ["-"], between items but it didn't work.
A: To add a separator you should

(you can do it in Deluxe Tuner, use "Add separator" button),

Q: I need the links for the side navigation bar to be vertical

You can create only one level of tabs and assign Object Id's of theDIV's to show when you click on the tab.

You can use Object ID as well as Link in both modes.
Use the following prefixes within item's link field:"object:" - means that there is object id after it;
"link:" - means that there is a link after it.
"javascript:" - means that there is a javascript code after it, for example:javascript:alert(\'Hello!\')
So, you should write for example:
