Javascript Tree Menu. Expandable Menu.

You can set default expanded/collapsed items and submenus.
After clicking on menu item selected item becomes highlighted.
When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! You can also specify height and width for each separate submenu.
There is no need to write additional code on a server side to remember what items were expanded/collapsed. Javascript/DHTML Tree can save items state automatically!

A: You can try to use the following function

function dm_ext_getSubmenuParams (menuInd, submenuInd)

Returns submenu parameters in the array:
[submenu_id, items_count, parent_item_id, submenu_level, is_horizontal]

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

Using this function you can retrieve the parent_item_id.

Q: The nav is currently to the left of a flash animated area.
And when a link in the dropdown menu is hovered upon the box opens

A: You can use your own javascript functions in the menu items.

You should paste "javascript:some_function()" into item's link field, for example:

Unfortunately, you can't assign onmouseover/onClick event to each item. However, you can achieve this by using standard html objects within items, for example:
